Planning on taking your ATV along on your next vacation? Before you do, we strongly advise reading through our helpful packing guide below. While a trip with an ATV is a ton of fun for the whole family, it will require a little bit of prep to make sure you and your ATV make it there and back in one piece.

Hauling Tools

Before you make plans to bring your ATV along on your next trip, you’ll need to make sure you have the right tools on hand to haul it with you. If you don't already own a trailer, you'll need to buy or rent one that can fit your ATV into the bed, and handle its heavy weight. If your trailer doesn’t already come with loading ramps you’ll need to purchase some yourself, as well as wheel chocks, tie-down cords, and a set of tow chains, just to be safe.

Your Tow Vehicle

When packing for your ATV trip you’ll need to be careful. Underpack, and you may end up forgetting the important gear required to ride your ATV. Or, if you overpack, you may end up overloading your tow vehicle and cause it to break down on the road. To avoid this, be sure to check your vehicle’s owner's manual for its gross weight limit. If your luggage, trailer, and ATV end up weighing more than what your vehicle can handle, you’ll need to pack lighter or rent a more heavy-duty vehicle.
