Winter snow and ice can be difficult for even the roughest and toughest of vehicles to get through. However, UTVs have a number of helpful accessories that make driving through winter weather a breeze! To learn which helpful customizations you might need for your next winter ride, take a look at our helpful guide below.

Tires

While UTV tires have some impressive grip, they may still have trouble navigating through ice and snow. If you’d like to ride your UTV throughout the winter season, we advise upgrading your wheels for a set of snow tires. If you don’t plan to ride your UTV regularly throughout the season a more affordable set of snow chains is also a good option. Just be aware that the chains can become damaged and break, so you’ll need to inspect them carefully before each ride.

Tracks

If you live in an exceptionally cold climate a set of snow tires or chains may not be enough. To travel through extremely dense snow you’ll need to replace your wheels with a set of tracks. You can easily complete this installation yourself with a UTV track kit, however, we only advise doing so if you’re often traveling through heavy snowfall or boggy areas. While a set of tracks will allow you to travel through even the most difficult terrains, they’ll also reduce the speed and turning radius of your UTV.

Accessories

If you’re having trouble staying warm on your winter UTV rides, you may want to invest in a few helpful accessories. If your model doesn’t already have a heater installed we advise grabbing a portable model to place on the floorboards. To keep the heat in and the cold out, you may also want to invest in a windshield or a few doors for your model. Not only will this help insulate your UTV but it should help reduce windchill significantly.
